A LITTLE ABOUT US
Established in 2017, the Thunder Bay Skating Academy (TBSA) is a not-for-profit Skate Canada sanctioned organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, a skilled team of nationally certified professional coaches, and a dedicated team of volunteers who make it all happen. We want to inspire residents of Thunder Bay and area to embrace the joy of skating.

In 2018, the Thunder Bay Skating Academy became part of the Skate Ontario CanSkate Excellence Recognition Program being awarded at the highest level with the Exceeded Standard status. We are the first and only club in Thunder Bay with this distinction.
In 2019, the Fort William Figure Skating Club amalgamated with the Thunder Bay Skating Academy. Founded in 1948, the Fort William FSC has a long tradition of figure skating excellence. This merger allows our club to offer programs from the Parent & Tot level through to the highest levels of the STARskate figure skating programs.
We are proud to operate our programs in various locations throughout the city of Thunder Bay including Current River Arena, Delaney Arena, Fort William Gardens, Grandview Arena and Neebing Arena.
