The Pre-CanSkate program is designed for any skater (up to age 8) who has not mastered the ability to shuffle forward, stand up and balance on their own. This program is a non-parented class. Therefore, skaters should be able to participate independently without a parent on the ice.

 

The goal of the Pre-CanSkate program is to introduce skaters to their equipment and ease the feelings of those who are uneasy about skating. The goal is to work with the skater as they work towards their Pre-CanSkate ribbon. These sessions are taught in a group lesson format both on and off the ice by NCCP Nationally Certified Professional Coaches.

Participants must wear a CSA approved hockey helmet and skates. We recommend dressing in light layers and wearing water resistant type pants and mittens or gloves.
