The Rising STAR program is a learn to figure skate program where participants must wear figure skates. It is designed for skaters who have previously skated with the Academy and who are working on their Stage 3 badge or higher of the CanSkate program. Skaters will take part in an accelerated CanSkate program to complete Stage 3-6. This program is taught by Regional Level NCCP Nationally Certified Professional Coaches specializing in the STARSkate program.

 

Skaters and Parents will be notified by the Lead Coach at their session if their child has shown advanced learning skills and would fit into this program. In the Rising STARS program, the skaters will be placed into groups according to their level and be taught exclusively by Regional Level Coaches. This program is meant get skaters to achieve their CanSkate levels at a quicker pace to have them move onto the STARSkate program for figure skating.

All participants must wear a CSA approved hockey helmet unless otherwise told by one of our professional coaches. We recommend dressing in light layers and wearing figure skating attire (dresses & tights; leggings; club clothing; etc...)
