WINTER 2024 Schedule Updated November 6th, 2023

PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS:

Parent & Tot

The Parent & Tot program is designed for skaters ages 2+ who have never skated before and who are not ready to be independent on the ice. The goal of the Parent & Tot program is to allow skaters the opportunity to gain confidence with parental support. Parents and Tots must wear a CSA approved helmet and skates.  PLEASE NOTE:  All parents must wear skates and a CSA approved helmet.

Canskate

Skaters have mastered the ability to shuffle forward, stand up and balance on their own. Participants will be working on Stage 1 Badge. Stage 2 and 3 skills will also be taught. Participants must wear a CSA approved helmet and skates. We recommend water resistant type pants and mittens or gloves.

Advanced CanSkate

Skaters must have passed Stage 2 Badge.

Rising Stars

The Rising STAR program is a learn to figure skate program where participants must wear figure skates. It is designed for skaters who have previously skated with the Academy and who are working on their Stage 2 badge or higher of the CanSkate program. Skaters will take part in an accelerated CanSkate program to complete Stage 2-6. This program is taught by Regional Level Coaches specializing in the STARSkate program.

Therefore, skaters should be able to participate without a parent on the ice. The goal of the Pre-CanSkate program is to introduce skaters to their equipment and ease those who are uneasy about skating. The goal is to work with the skater as they work towards their Pre-CanSkate ribbon.
